Context Packer is a browser extension made by Maveleaf Labs. In short: it reads a page only when you click it, does all its work on your device, and never sends the pages you capture to us or anyone else.
1. What the extension reads
- It reads the current tab only after you click the toolbar button, use the keyboard shortcut, or choose a Context Packer item from the right-click menu. It uses the browser's
activeTabpermission, so it has no standing access to any website. - For the selection options it reads the text you have selected.
2. Where your data goes
- Conversion to Markdown, previews, copies and downloads all happen inside your browser. Page content goes only to your clipboard or to a file you choose to download.
- Your settings, saved instructions and, for Pro users, the pages in your context pack are kept in your browser's extension storage on this device. Removing the extension deletes them. The current tab's capture is kept only until you close the browser.
- We use no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no remote code.
3. Pro licence check
If you enter a Pro licence key, the extension asks your permission to contact Gumroad's licence API (api.gumroad.com), sends the key and the product ID to confirm the purchase, then rechecks about once a month. Gumroad returns whether the key is valid and the purchase email, which is stored on your device to show who the licence belongs to. Nothing else is sent. Gumroad's own privacy policy covers your purchase.
4. Children
Context Packer is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children.
