Ledger Clipper privacy policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Ledger Clipper is a browser extension made by Maveleaf Labs. In short: it reads a page only when you click it, does all its work on your device, and never sends the pages or tables you clip to us or anyone else.
1. What the extension reads
- It reads the tables on the current tab only after you click the toolbar button, use the keyboard shortcut, or choose a Ledger Clipper item from the right-click menu. It uses Chrome's
activeTabpermission, so it has no standing access to any website. - For "Sum selected numbers" it reads the text you have selected.
2. Where your data goes
- Parsing, previews, copies and downloads all happen inside your browser. Table contents never leave your device.
- Your settings, the Pro "collection" of clipped tables and any column rules you save are kept in your browser's extension storage on this device. Removing the extension deletes them. The current page's scan is kept only until you close the tab or the browser.
- We use no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no remote code.
3. Pro licence check
If you enter a Pro licence key, the extension sends that key and the product ID to Gumroad's licence API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm the purchase, then rechecks about once a month. Gumroad returns whether the key is valid and the purchase email, which is stored on your device to show who the licence belongs to. Nothing else is sent. Gumroad's own privacy policy covers the purchase.
4. Permissions
- activeTab, scripting: read tables on the tab you clicked from.
- contextMenus: the right-click items.
- sidePanel: the preview panel.
- storage: your settings and collection.
- clipboardWrite, offscreen: copy the table to your clipboard.
- api.gumroad.com: the licence check above.
5. Data sales and use
We don't sell or transfer user data, don't use it for anything unrelated to copying tables, and don't use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
